Product Description
Lubricated (black or bright) steel wire rope is protected by a special grease applied during manufacture instead of a zinc coating. The lubricant reduces friction between the wires and extends the fatigue life of ropes working continuously over sheaves. That is why it is the standard choice for tower cranes, overhead cranes, hoists, winch drums and mines.
The 6x19 and 6x36 Warrington-Seale constructions balance flexibility and abrasion resistance; rotation-resistant 18x7 and 35x7 constructions prevent the rope from spinning on cranes making high lifts on a single fall. FAQ
When should a crane rope be replaced?
When broken wires, diameter reduction, crushing, birdcaging or corrosion are found. The assessment must be carried out by a competent person in accordance with ISO 4309.
What is rotation-resistant rope?
A rope whose layers are laid in opposite directions, so it has little tendency to spin about its own axis under load. It is used on cranes making high lifts on a single fall.
